Write a 500-1,000-word proposal narrative. This paper is due by the end of Topic 4.

The Scenario: Imagine that your funding source has responded positively to your letter of intent. Now, you must work out the details of your proposal and communicate those details to your funding source by using rhetorical strategies to carefully revise your needs statement and develop a precise project description tailored to the funding sources needs.

Your Task: Using your needs statement, letters of intent, and what you have learned about writing the project description, draft a proposal narrative that includes a revised needs statement and a solution to the problem that includes your goal, objectives, and tasks. Make sure your proposal narrative includes these parts:

1. A revised needs statement that includes key words that show how the problem you have identified fits with the sponsor’s priorities and a hook that grabs the reader’s attention and gives the reader a reason to be emotionally invested in the problem.
2. A short statement of goals. Include who will benefit and how they will benefit.
3. A discussion of your objectives that are clearly connected to your goals. Remember that successful objectives will be realistic and possible to achieve in a year or less; they must also be specific and measurable. If there is not a clear way to show that you have met your objectives, the objectives need to be revised.
4. A list or discussions of tasks that will help you achieve your objectives. You may include sub-tasks in this part of your proposal. Make sure that you can articulate how each task will help you achieve your objectives. You may want to identify the people or groups who will perform each task.
