HEM 460 Excelsior College infrastructure Security and Policy Questions

You must select TWO of the FIVE following essay questions:

1. Select a critical infrastructure asset and suggest five ways to protect that asset. At least two suggestions should fall under the heading of critical infrastructure protection and two suggestions should fall under the heading of critical infrastructure assurance.
2. The Southeastern United States is prone to hurricanes during certain times of the year. How might public-private partnerships assist this region and its citizens to prepare for and deal with a hurricane disaster?
3. You work for a manufacturing company. The president of your company has heard about cloud computing and concealed conduits, but she does not understand what they are all about. Explain, in a memo, what these are and how they would help the company. Include any relevant potential risks. Remember to use language that she, as a non-technical but intelligent person, will be able to understand.
4. Research a recent disaster or catastrophe in the news. Detail how at least three guidelines—under one or more of the awareness, performance, planning or management guideline sets—were followed or violated.
5. Prepare the outline of a training plan whereby you would train firemen to be aware of hazardous materials when they are the first responders to a potential HAZMAT situation.

Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. For those assignments that are not written essays and require uploading images or PowerPoint slides, please follow uploading guidelines provided by your instructor.

Check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors. When you are ready to submit your work, click “Upload Submission.”  Enter the submission title and then click on “Select a file to upload.” Browse your computer, and select your file. Click “Open” and verify the correct file name has appeared next to Submission File. Click on “Continue.”  Confirm submission is correct and then click on “Accept Submission & Save.”
